IC INFORMATION
Character Name: Asterios
Species: Berserker / Minotaur
Canon: Fate Grand Order
Canon Point: Post Lost Belt 6
Character Age: Not Given, but implied to be a fully grown adult.
CRAU: No
CRAU Explanation: N/A
Character Appearance:
A six-foot-plus humanoid, he is covered in massive scars over his equally massive muscles. He has blood-red eyes surrounded by blackness, a trait rare even among other Servants. His hair is more of an animals’ white mane that reaches all round his neck and falls all over his back in a tangled mess. He also has two large red horns sticking out of his head. As far as fashion goes, he has one gold earring and typically wears the remains of chains on his arms and legs as a symbol of his eternal punishment for existing.
Powers and Abilities:
At The Start :
- He is incredibly strong – the muscles aren’t just for show. As a result, he can lift supremely heavy things and really delivers a solid punch when fighting.
- As a Berseker, he has "Madness Enhancement" – which means the more he gives into his insanity, the more already massive strength will increase. However, this can/does result in attacking even his own allies if he’s not kept in check.
Will Need To Be Regained :
- Wields a heavy labrys that has been split in two.
- Spirit Origin : As a Servant, this allows him to simplify himself to a mere ‘spirit’, allowing himself to become invisible to all. In this form, he doesn’t need any magic, but it also doesn’t allow him to do anything else save for traveling around unnoticed.
- Noble Phantasm : when he has built up enough magical energy, he can summon an image of the labyrinth, called "Chaos Labyrinth: Eternally Unchanging Labyrinth", which lowers an opponent's attack and defense by forcibly making them relive his horrific time in the labyrinth and messing with their own sanity.
What Did Your Character Wish For? Atonement – for all the lives he took in the Labyrinth. He believes that he should have starved to death, and was grateful to be slayed at last during his “initial” life.
What Potion Did They Receive? Yellow.
Did They Drink It? Yes.
If Yes, What Element/Animal?
A bull – a pure white one, to be exact.
Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon? Or who is someone they miss the most?
Euryale - While Servants typically don’t remember the Singularities they were summoned in, they’re often seen as “this would have happened regardless”, and as a result similar bonds tend to happen within Chaldea. To give specific details –
Asterios and Euryale were summoned within the same Singularity, and she was the first person in it to treat him as an actual person instead of a monster, and to speak to him with his real name instead of The Minotaur. With this act of kindness, Asterios remained fiercely loyal to her, and wound up protecting her with his very life, even though at times she did act like a spoiled brat towards him.
When the Singularity was resolved and they were summoned to Chaldea individually, they had no memories of these interactions, yet felt compelled to be with one another regardless. She still treated him as a person instead of a beast, and he was still grateful for this kindness, even though by now several other Servants could have (and definitely were!) nicer than Euryale. To him, she’s irreplaceable and he can never repay her back for making him feel like an actual human.
2. What are they most afraid of?
Unsurprisingly, it would be to return to the Labyrinth. The isolation, the desperation, he’d rather die and never be summoned again than experience it once more. While he can handle other mazes and the like, the original Labyrinth, his home, is his biggest terror since it was literally designed to keep him in there forever. It would also mean being separated from the people he cares for, such as Euryale and his Master.
3. What is their weakness? Emotionally, mentally and physically?
Emotionally –
Because of the way he was “raised”, it’s extremely difficult for him to express emotions outside of pure rage. He can feel them, but showing them is just something he has to put all his strength into, and even then they can come off as bizarre – his smiling expression makes him more look like a serial killer than someone actually pleased. He can’t cry, he can’t laugh, and he’s fully aware how damaged that makes him as a person.
Mentally –
He was never given a proper education, or really ANY education, so he’s severely lacking when it comes to a lot of things. While he has a great innate knowledge of navigation and can memorize things quickly, he can just BARELY read and write. Even his speech is slow and strained, as he’s not used to talking (who would he have talked to? You wanna chat up the dude who’s about to eat you?) and he has to take great long pauses to choose his words.
In addition, because of his status as a Berserker, he can be prone to deadly rage when it comes to battling. The longer his fights go on, the more of his sanity he loses, which can cause him to attack everyone and anyone regardless of whose side they’re on.
Physically -
While his strength is immense, his defense is sorely lacking – again, owing to his status as a Berserker class. They can provide way heavier hits than other classes, but as a result the hits they take are twice as bad. He’s also a Bronze status, which means his defense is even weaker compared to other Berserkers – a few good hits and he’s out of the team.
4. What would make them happiest?
A simple fellow at heart, he doesn’t long for much. He’s often at his most content when he’s just with nature, sitting on the grass and letting the wind touch his face, the kind of freedom he always dreamed of when he was in the Labyrinth. If his friends, like Euryale and Master, could always be with him, then that would also just be dandy. But he doesn’t want to be greedy, and could spend eternity just taking a decent nap in the flowers.
5. What do you want out of your character in this setting?
While I have no specific goals in mind, I’d love him to make some friends who could help him understand that his sins weren’t his alone to bear – that his parents royally fucked up (literally) and there were options besides “build a labyrinth, stick him in there, feed him people, pretend everything is fine”.
